It is powerful enough to exert nearly one half-ton of holding force and durable enough to withstand an impressive half-million life cycles. The 2002 releases under door preload, is non-handed, and fail secure (standard action; unlocks when energized).

It comes with corrosion resistant faceplate measuring 1-7/16" X 7-15/16" and a solid-cast latch. Corrosion resistant chrome-plated cavity dimensions are: depth, 9/16"; width, 5/8"; and height, 1-11/16. The unit is mortise type, backset to a depth of 1-1/2". Additional features include:
