It is powerful enough to exert a half-ton of holding force and durable enough to withstand a half-million life cycles. The 1002-2 releases under door preload and features auxiliary lever ramps (2 7/8) for locksets with auxiliary dead locking levers.

It comes with corrosion resistant faceplate measuring 1 7/16 X 7 15/16" and a solid-cast latch. Corrosion resistant chrome-plated cavity dimensions are: depth, 9/16"; width, 9/16"; and height, 1-11/16. The unit is mortise type, backset to a depth of 1 9/16". It is non-handed and fail secure (standard action).
